INTRODUCTORY CLASSES
For Beginners & Rusty Riders
Never ridden a horse? Used to ride years ago? Start with an Introductory Course. We will help you to be comfortable and safe around the horses, teaching you how to correctly lead and tie, groom and saddle, bridle, mount and dismount. Lots of hands-on assistance from your instructors on good balance and gentle communication with the horse.
Our school horses are well trained and kind hearted, the instructors are certified and have years of experience. You will soon progress to the Novice, Intermediate and Advanced classes. And don't worry – if you do seem to be too advanced for the Introductory, we can move you to a class which is better for you.

Introductory Class Curriculum

 

Novice, Intermediate & Advanced.
Riding lessons are offered in the ring and on the trail at all levels. If you are new to Miwok Livery, we will schedule an evaluation lesson to place you. Classes emphasize techniques for fluid movement and balance, and some include basic dressage, Natural Horsemanship, and jumping. Many students enjoy taking a ring class with a trail class for variety.
Evaluation Lesson
If you have riding experience, but are not sure what level of class to take, start with an evaluation lesson. We will arrange to have you ride with one of our group classes, after which the instructor will suggest the best classes for you. A private 45 minute evaluation is $100.An evaluation lesson in a group class is $75.
