Description of Riding Levels

  • Introductory: An orientation to tacking and riding English for beginners and rusty riders.
  • Intro II - After the Introductory course, posting at the trot, balance in two-point.
  • Novice - Perfecting your balance and position by working on three seats at the trot.
  • Intermediate - Beginning canter; improving effective transitions and turns at the trot.
  • Advanced - Rider can walk/trot/canter any horse in the Livery. Group canter, figures.
  • Jumping/Huntseat - Forward seat, balance and effectiveness in two-point over obstacles.
  • Balance In Motion: Techniques and exercises for fluid balance.

  • EVALUATION LESSON: Novice, Intermediate and Advanced riders can take an evaluation lesson to determine the most suitable class. To Enroll, please phone ahead to be sure an opening is available.
